GRIT Legal have been supporting Warrnambool and District Community Hospice since commencing business in 2021, donating a percentage ofall costs received in Will matters to the Hospice.

This year, GRIT Legal also provided support by sponsoring a 'Sip and Paint - Floral Creations' workshop, lead by Erin Keegan, during the Hospice's Warrnibald Portrait and Art Show.

To further support the Warrnambool and District Community Hospice, director and principal lawyer, Ann Cunningham, attended the workshop.

While Ann's artwork won't be going on the office wall at GRIT Legal, she enjoyed the process of creating a floral artwork; "I'm better suited to being a lawyer rather than an artist!"

Ann also took some time to enjoy the exhibition on the weekend and was pleased to see that Corangamite Shire was certainly well represented, with Harley Manifold’s portrait of Helen Bunyon winning first prize and second prize going to Claire Chatfield for her portrait Bob Wason.

"The exhibition is an amazing showcase of local artists. It was wonderful walking around and recognising the portraits of people who volunteer in our community. I especially enjoyed seeing the portrait of Judi Oakes painted by local Camperdown artist Virginia Farley. I had approached Virginia and encouraged her to paint Judi as I love Virginia’s vibrant and detailed artwork, and I thought Judi would make a fantastic subject. Certainly, Judi is a worthy subject; she is a dedicated community volunteer who has clocked up over 460 volunteer hours with Warrnambool and District Community Hospice."
"It's so wonderful to be able to celebrate creativity while raising awareness and funds for the essential and invaluable support that Hospice provides to families caring for loved ones at home. The money raised will ensure that the Hospice can continue to provide trained volunteers to provide practical assistance and companionship and to support carers with respite and emotional support throughout Camperdown, Warrnambool and Moyne regions."

The exhibition is open until 14 May 2025 at the Matilda Room of the Warrnambool Racecourse. The exhibition will conclude with a Gala event and auction on Saturday 17 May 2025, with funds raised being donated to Warrnambool and District Hospice.
