Who needs a Will?

When it comes to planning for the future, many of us tend to focus on the exciting things - career goals, buying a home, planning holidays.

But, there’s another kind of planning that’s just as important: Estate Planning.

Creating a Will is another one of those tasks we need to tick off as an adult.

‍

While it might feel uncomfortable to think about, creating a Will is an essential step to protect your wishes, your loved ones, and your peace of mind.

The importance of having a Will:

So, you have a car, or some cash in the bank? If you’d like to choose who your vehicle or hard-earned cash goes to, it’s probably time you thought about creating a Will.

A Will allows you to:

• Choose who inherits your vehicle, savings, items with sentimental value (such as jewellery) and/or any property you own.
• Appoint a trusted person to manage your affairs
• Provide for children or pets
• Specify funeral or burial wishes
• Minimise family conflict

If you don’t have a Will, you die ‘intestate”, which means the law decides who inherits your Estate.

‍

If you already have a Will, you should review it whenever there is a significant change in your life circumstances, such as marriage, divorce, or the birth of a child. We recommend reviewing your Will at least every two to three years.
